Feral Possible, around Karl-Marx-Straße and Carrer Cobalt

It is well know that many people go to concerts and clubs in Berlin, seeking the home-like feeling that music often provides. One such concert takes place in a vast factory where and artist duo drags pipes, bangs on objects, and cuts metal on the spot. This industrial symphony is joined by small kinetic creatures that perform delicate scenes of wonder amid the noise and the many mesmerized attendees. Karl-Marx-Straße, the interior of a factory, and an artists' studio on Cobalt Street grow closer, seeding familiar scenes.
One of these wanderers happens to be an artist and is invited to hold an exhibition in a heritage venue by four curators inspired by weeds. They propose a game: inviting another artist to collaborate. She remembers the concert and invites the duo from Barcelona. The space lies far from Neukölin and even farther from Barcelona, yet she incorporates it into her walks with friends and shares weedy stories with the artist duo. Together, they all wonder what can be done with a place that was once a bear pit. There is something sinister about caging animals for the safe contemplation of humans- so dominant and yet so fearful at the same time Bears become ghosts once they are gone, but their cages remain. Tenderness and weeds draw ever closer.
The Berlin-based artist works with a laser machine, making small pieces that come in pairs. The artist duo creates a moving creature in Barcelona and produces additional small works incorporating elements by the Berlin artist. Not all of them will sprout Ghostly elements appear, filling almost the entire space. They do not exist in the real world, they come to life only on a map the artist creates to situate the works within the space. She and the curators believe them to be bears, still very present even though they have been gone for more than ten years. All the pieces share the exhibition's name, Feral Possible. It is a collective name for different species, just as "weeds" gathers many unruly plants under a single word.
The pieces and the creature begin to inhabit the space and get to know one another They share a common mission to inhabit without invading, to befriend the space and each other Weeds are always stronger in groups. Their reality is one of ghostly omnipresence. A shadow intervention that has already appeared elsewhere emerges again, drawn to the residual spaces within exhibitions Feral Possible, between Karl-Marx-Straße and Carrer Cobalt, comes into being Visitors are invited to wander through this temporary setting in search of particular weeds taking root in walls, floors, collaboration, and tenderness.
The exhibition is the third part of “Louder, Taller, Uglier, Weirder – Learning from Weeds / Von Unkraut lernen”, a curatorial project consisting of four exhibitions and a series of events called sprouts, which appear as they grow and move forward. The project is curated by Anaïs Senli, Lorena Juan, Sonia Fernández Pan, Sylvia Sadzinski.
